Mi-Mo Korean Cosmetics A recent addition to the Korean Cosmetics in Barcelona club, the relatively small Mi-Mo was started just a year ago by entrepreneur Tamara Kovkel. Despite a smaller storefront and online presence, Mi-Mo delivers a more affordable collection (sheet masks for only 1.50€) of unique Korean beauty treatments combined with one-on-one instruction about how to use Harry-Potter-potion style products, such as soothing placenta face masks, snail mucin serums, and spider web toners. A second location is coming at Calvet, 44. Most popular product: Secret Key Lemon Sparkling Peel Gel (13.60€) To Try: Gel-consistency toners that don’t require a cotton ball or swab. The folks at Mi-Mo have strong feelings about adhering to toner use, despite it being an extra step shoehorned between post-cleansing and pre-moisturizing. The delicious smelling Hyaluronic Moisture Toner from It’s Skin (16.99€) makes it easier to add it to your routine. Wine Courses Barcelona Wine Courses Barcelona was founded by Sharon in 2015, with the aim of taking the snobbishness out of wine appreciation and to help others make the leap into the wine industry. WCB provides the world-renowned Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) qualifications, from Levels 1 to 3. As the international standard in wine and spirits education, these are invaluable assets for professionals and informative, comprehensive courses for novice wine lovers. To date, WCB has trained over 270 students from 48 nationalities and enjoys exceptional pass rates. WCB also provides training for individuals and businesses, including bespoke training for hotels, restaurants, bars, yacht crew, and wineries, as well as corporate entertainment programs and team building events. Sharon became a Certified Sherry Educator in November 2019 and her next goal is to spread the love for this under-appreciated beverage throughout Barcelona! The WCB team grew in 2019 when Sharon was joined by owner of Salut Wine Studio, Melissa Leighty, who teaches Level 1 courses; and Simone Velluti. Both Melissa and Simone are proud WCB graduates. Their maxim is: “grab a glass, get involved!” Why don’t you? About Meagan BellovinMeagan arrived in Barcelona in 2019, having left behind a full life of family, friends, and career in Austin, Texas.
