Sometimes it’s good to do one thing and do it well. COVID closures have forced some local restaurateurs to switch to delivery and become inventive with their offerings and menu changes. There’s also a growing trend of entrepreneurs who are keeping it simple by offering one dish, with orders taken via Instagram DM or WhatsApp (not Glovo). Here are eight Barcelona food delivery upstarts that are masters of one.
The Dirty Vegans
Dirty never tasted so good. The brainchild of the Irish-English team, Babs and GiGi, the Dirty Vegans‘ sandwiches show the innocent and sinful sides of vegan food. On the side of sin are the Dirty Desayuno with sausage, bacon, sweet potato, and avocado and the Spicy Señorita with bacon, tortilla, and a secret spicy sauce. Redemption comes in the Green Goddess, full of spinach, courgette, cucumber, and alfalfa sprouts.

Fast Eddie’s
Don’t mess with a good thing. Or Fast Eddie’s. He’s only here to do two things: make outrageously delicious fried chicken sandwiches and look devastatingly handsome while doing so. Please don’t ask Fast Eddie’s to expand his repertoire or mind his manners or stop barbecuing on a ski slope. Fast Eddie’s delivers lunch and dinner Wednesdays-Fridays between 2pm-9pm. He also has occasional weekend specials.

Dumplings BCN/Banh Mi Queen
So you can’t travel to Taiwan’s Din Tai Fung for one of their famous dumplings. Fortunately, the Banh Mi Queen of Barcelona has branched out and is offering up her take on Din Tai Fung’s creation. Dumplings BCN delivers dumplings to be steamed in your home. It may be ordered with their special chili oil. Choose between pork and shrimp or chicken and shrimp. You may want to pick up bamboo dumpling steamers and parchment paper to steam them right.
30 dumplings: 18 euros

Millas Lunch
Millas Lunch serves up vegetarian dishes with a daily change up of the one dish offered and an international take. The menu swings from Mexican to Indian to Korean (or other cuisine) all in the same week. Traditionally meat-based dishes get a vegetarian makeover, without sacrificing flavor. Millas Lunch has been around since long before COVID, but has really taken off in recent months, with a growing community of Barcelona food delivery fans who have a hankering for a plant-based diet.

My Funky Bowl
You know what’s better than a full bowl of food that makes you feel good about eating it? Food that comes packaged in biodegradable and plastic free containers. My Funky Bowl has a daily offering of international-themed bowls, like vegan burritos, Mexican turkey casseroles, chicken shawarma, and Peruvian pork chaufa. Order online by 11:30am on weekdays for a before 2:00pm delivery.
The Healthiest Choice
Vegan/vegetarian/gluten free CrossFitters finally have decent lunch options thanks to The Healthiest Choice. Founder and CEO Jess Chica is a former clinical nurse who puts the focus on nutritious, plant-based, macro-balanced meals that don’t sacrifice flavor for clean and healthy eating. The Healthiest Choice ups the ante by customizing your order to your preference as vegan, vegetarian, GF, low/high carb, keto, and other options. Plates start at 8.90 euros, depending on customized options. The bowl changes daily. Order online Monday-Friday for same day delivery.
Chef2GoBCN
Canadian chef Nikki Freire delivers a daily box of comfort for lunch. Her offerings include chili, noodles, soups, eggplant parm, and other plates that will make you want to wear a blanket and fuzzy slippers while eating lunch. All dishes are vegetarian, but can include meat options for an additional three euros.

Veg It
As any vegetarian can tell you, it’s really not that difficult to eat well on a strictly plant-based diet. Veg It makes it even easier by delivering a changing menu del mediodia that will leave you full without sending you into a food coma. Plates range from Mid-East wraps and Indianish crepes, to black quinoa koftes and lentil burgers, among other international flavors. Bacon is good, but there are far more delicious things to eat out there.
