Fermentation Shop and Learning Space Ferment 9 is dedicated to the fermentation of food and drinks using microbes. The shop, near Sant Antoni market, sells all of the essential fermentation materials, including equipment, cultures, and ingredients, plus ready-made products like sauerkraut, kimchi, Salvadoran curtido, kombucha, and kefir. For those more interested in making fermented dishes at home, starter kits are also available, including to make vegan kefir or yogurt. Clients new to the fermentation process can take workshops in Spanish or English at a cost of 85 euros for a three hour course. Ferment 9 even works with local schools to offer fermentation classes for children.
